Beijing, China, March 21, 2007 - Today, Consumer Electronics Powerline Communications Alliance (CEPCA) and Intelligent Grouping and Resource Sharing Group (IGRS) announced their partnership to promote powerline communication (PLC) in China. This partnership is based on a Memorandum of Understanding the two organizations signed in December, and it symbolizes the importance of PLC networking to IGRS member companies.

A press released was issued a few days ago by Sony with the aim to demonstrate the benefits of combining IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS)-based personalized TV and Sony's home network based on Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) standards to permit consumers to communicate between their mobile devices and home network.

Specifications submitted to ETSI PLT and IEEE BPL Standards Working Group

19th July 2005 - New York, New York. Today, the Universal Powerline Association (UPA) announces that it has published a paper of proposed specifications entitled, “Powerline Communication Systems - Access/In-home & In-home/In-home coexistence mechanism - General specifications.” The proposed specifications are intended to be the starting point for the work of standards setting bodies, including the IEEE and ETSI.
