Asoka showcases its Enterprise-Grade Powerline Network Solution at HITEC 2006

Introducing the First In-Wall Plug-in Add-on Powerline Module

21 Jun 2006

Minneapolis, MN, - Asoka USA Corporation, the leading Powerline Communications developer and manufacturer, will be showcasing its 85Mbps standards-based enterprise-grade Powerline Network Solution at the Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference (HITEC) this week.

Featuring its latest addition to its PlugLAN™ family, the 8750 SmarTAP™, is the world's first outlet add-on module that integrates Powerline Communications in a simple outlet tap form factor. The PlugLAN 8750 SmarTAP allows system integrators and hoteliers to instantly and securely add two Ethernet ports wherever is needed without an electrician or additional adapters invading desk space or the risk of portable adapters being stolen. In addition, the PlugLAN 8750 SmarTAP provides two (2) AC-sockets giving hotel guests additional power plug-ins that are often in high demand.

“The PlugLAN 8750 SmarTap enables organizations to seamlessly extend the Powerline Communications functionality from the core of the network to the edge without obtrusive customer premise equipment that often poses security theft issues,” said Elsa Chan, Director of Business Development at Asoka. “The PlugLAN 8750 SmarTap is the only Powerline-based CPE with a unique in-wall plug-in add-on module design, which instantly provides connectivity while providing advanced security and management functionalities required for today's networks. System Integrators and hoteliers can deploy and upgrade their existing infrastructure for new applications like hi-speed Internet access (HSIA) or IP telephony at a fraction of the cost and time of pulling new cables.”

Along with the PlugLAN 8750 SmarTAP, Asoka will also be featuring its entire PlugLAN family. For more information, visit Asoka's booth #346 at the Minneapolis Convention Center.
