devolo AG was founded on 1 May 2002 in Aachen, Germany, and specialises in the development of communications solutions for private consumers and industrial applications. Its product range includes devices for DSL, ISDN and analogue Internet access as well as home-networking solutions using cabled Ethernet, wireless LAN, or existing electrical wiring.

History

The firm was founded on 1 May 2002 in Aachen as a management buy-out from the ELSA AG. This allowed the know-how from 18 years of developmental experience and market knowledge to flow into the new firm. The firm further bolstered its position on the market by taking over the well-known “MicroLink®” brand, including all product rights. After just two years, clear positive results are already visible: devolo has established itself as a manufacturer and is the market leader in analogue data communications. The HomePlug technology has also been pursued with conviction. With its dLAN® series, devolo now offers an attractive palette of products and is market leader in this area as well.

Objectives

devolo's goal is the further development of its successful product series. The areas of Internet access technology and home networking are developing rapidly. An orientation toward these technology markets, toward satisfying customer's needs, and the ambition to convince through innovative product ideas serve as the firm's motivational motor. In addition to the core markets of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, devolo products can now be found in Italy, Spain, Portugal, England, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Greece and Dubai.
