The HomePlug Access BPL Specification Working Group Announces An Open “Call for Submissions”

San Francisco - April 24, 2006 - The HomePlug® Powerline Alliance today announced an open “Call for Submissions” to the Broadband over Power Line (BPL) industry for technical submissions in several key areas related to the alliance's Access BPL Specification.

The HomePlug Access BPL working group expects to address such topics as repeating, redundancy, network management, provisioning and others for inclusion into the specification. This invitation is open to all who are interested and those who submit will have the opportunity to present at the upcoming Broadband over Power Line - Specification Working Group (BPL-SWG) Meeting in Nice, France (May 22 - 24, 2006).

Submission Deadlines are as follows:

  • Thursday, April 27 - Deadline for interested parties to inform HomePlug BPL-SWG of their intent to submit. Send notification via email to Rob Ranck, Executive Director of HomePlug, at rranck@inventures.com
  • Wednesday, May 17 - Technical Submissions Due (procedural details are available from the Chairman of the HomePlug Access BPL Specification Working Group, Brian Wenger at brianw@corp.earthlink.net).
  • Monday, May 22-24 - BPL-SWG Meeting (Nice, France) – Submitters will present their submission(s) in face-to-face meetings with the Access BPL Working Group.
