Intellon Names Rick Furtney as President and Chief Operating Officer

Experienced Semiconductor Executive Will Drive Intellon's Continued Global Leadership in Powerline Communications Integrated Circuits

OCALA, FL - August 14, 2006 - Intellon Corporation, the leading global provider of integrated circuits (ICs) for powerline communications, announced that Rick E. Furtney has been named President and Chief Operating Officer of the company. Furtney will oversee sales, marketing, business development, engineering, research and development and operations for the rapidly growing semiconductor company. He will report to Charlie Harris, who will continue his role as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.

Furtney has 23 years of experience in the semiconductor industry with a history of driving customer-focused market strategy and rapid, profitable growth. He joins Intellon from International Rectifier, where he was Vice President, High Reliability Products. Earlier, he served as Vice President and General Manager of Analog Products at Intersil Corporation. Furtney holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois and a MBA in Management from Florida Institute of Technology.

Consumer products using Intellon's HomePlug ICs are available at major retailers. More than 20 cable, telecom, satellite and Wi-Max providers in Asia, Europe and North America are using Intellon-based products to install broadband modems and accelerate deployment of home networking and IPTV services.
