Vidanti selects Intellon to deliver High Definition IPTV with integrated Homeplug® AV based Powerline Connectivity

Intellon and Vidanti to showcase self-installable IPTV solutions at CES 2007

8 Jan 2007

CES 2007, Las Vegas - January 8, 2007 - Vidanti Ltd, a pioneering leader in software for high definition (HD) TV over Broadband, announced plans to develop HD IPTV products based on Intellon's world-leading INT6000 HomePlug AV IC.

In 2007, Vidanti will integrate the Intellon standards-based 200 Mbps powerline networking solution into its BBTV4000 family of IPTV and hybrid (IPTV & DVB) triple-play HD products in order to meet customer demand to simplify the installation of networked home video devices.

Paul Walsh, Vidanti CEO commented “Vidanti has significant customer interest for our BBTV4000 high definition IPTV solution but many operators ask how we solve the in-home video distribution problem. By integrating Intellon's Homeplug AV-based chipset, Vidanti will offer high-performance solutions without the need to install new home wiring. The Intellon HomePlug solution dramatically eases installation and eliminates the need for truck-rolls, thereby lowering the overall cost of ownership for Operators.”

“Intellon is pleased to be chosen by Vidanti for this powerful new product line,” said Cameron McCaskill, VP Business Development at Intellon Corporation. “Vidanti has a winning product in the high definition IPTV triple-play market and, in combination with Intellon's leading INT6000 ICs based on the 200 Mbps Homeplug AV global standard, can offer global IPTV service providers a compelling solution. By including our IC into their IPTV equipment, Vidanti will now offer service providers an HD IP set top box whose power and connectivity to the broadband gateway are both supplied through a standard power cord.”

The Vidanti BBTV4000 with Intellon HomePlug AV-based technology will be showcased in the Intellon booth, #35632, South Hall 4 at CES 2007 in Las Vegas from January 8-11, 2007.
