Ambient Corporation
Ambient Corporation, a late-stage development company, is a pioneer in the Broadband over Power Lines (BPL) industry. Ambient utilizes proprietary technology and in-depth industry experience to provide optimal solutions for the Utility and Multi-Dwelling Unit (MDU) markets. Headquartered in Newton, Massachusetts, Ambient is a publicly-traded company (OTC BB: ABTG).
Ambient was organized in June 1996 as a Delaware corporation and became a public company in 1998. Since 1999, Ambient Corporation has been focused on the design, development and commercialization of BPL solutions for medium and low voltage distribution power grids. Ambient's proprietary coupling and telecommunications technology will allow utilities to use their existing medium and low voltage power lines as high speed data pipelines, capable of delivering broadband Internet and telephony along with utility services such as AMR and outage reporting.
Ambient has worked with a number of utility, technology and service companies to develop the Ambient BPL system and is continuing to establish and maintain such relationships to supplement its system and services. Present activities are focused on the implementation and marketing of Ambient's BPL system architectures and technology solutions for use on low and medium voltage systems.
